Stamina with whole body vibration
Stamina is the ability to combine strength and endurance by keeping a relatively high load during a long period of time. The total duration may vary between two minutes that are necessary for an 800 m runner to complete the distance and some hours that are necessary for a racing cyclist to reach the finish.
The conventional training method requires a lot of time and the resistance is low to very low. Also the resting phases between the different sessions are short. However, this also means that the load on the passive organs is somewhat lower in comparison with the three prior forms of strength.
The training takes long because of the long sessions that are taken. The additional value of vibration training for stamina athletes lays not so much in the direct training of the stamina, but primarily in the training of the other forms of strength.
Seen from the point of view that the body forms a balance, it can be quite good to train non specifically. In this context it is not wrong for a stamina athlete to also train other forms of strength. Moreover vibration trainings helps with the recovery after a heavily stamina training.
With recovery training, more training sessions can be done in for example a week, because the body is better able to handle the training.
In summary it can be said that vibration training has a good influence on all forms of strength. The primary effects are gain of time, efficiency and recovery compared with conventional training methods.
